Maureen Downing

Executive Assistant

Maureen Downing joined SCC as the Executive Assistant in August 2024 as a contractor and transitioned to full SCC employee in November of 2025. She was drawn to the organization due to SCC’s message and all the ways we do our best to support and make a positive impact on the community.

As Executive Assistant, Maureen handles administrative tasks and assists the CEO and the leadership team. She takes pride in supporting all individuals and departments and pitches in with additional projects and events as needed.

Maureen is originally from Wisconsin, lived in Colorado for around 15 years, and moved to Massachusetts a few years ago to be close to her boyfriend (now husband) who is a Massachusetts native. Outside of work, Maureen spends time with her husband, enjoys playing video games, reading whatever strikes her fancy, and trying to pet every dog she sees.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
