Union United Presents on Community Benefits at CAC Meeting

On October 8th, Union United was invited to present on Community Benefit Agreements (CBA’s) to the Union Square Civic Advisory Committee. This milestone event comes after months of hard work researching examples of successful CBA’s across the country, meeting to discuss Union United’s priorities, drafting our own CBA, and raising our voices to insist on a collaborative participatory planning process for the Union Square area. With a great turnout of more than 40 coalition members filling the Argenziano School Cafetorium, we are moving in the right direction to achieve a CBA.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
