Turning Tax Day Into a Celebration?

One of the joyous moments of the Community Investment Tax Credit (CITC) program takes place on Tax Day. The 2016 SCC Social Equity Campaign donors, 87 in total, were eligible this Tax Day to claim their 50% CITC state tax refund.

This translated into $192,500 back into people’s pockets (plus their federal charitable deductions). And, SCC still benefits from the $385,000 in donations to move our social equity agenda forward. This is truly a win-win for everyone.

Join Us on May 17

We invite you to join us – our donors, friends and partners – to celebrate the record-breaking year we just experienced at our spring “Because of You” party on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. The party will take place at Nu Café, 195 Washington Street, one of Somerville’s newest spots and adjacent to the property that houses the 35 affordable housing units that make up SCC’s Union Square Apartments.

Let us thank you for all you do, and be part of the excitement as we kick-off Social Equity Campaign 2017. Enjoy food, drinks, music by the Country Pleasures and a rooftop peek of Somerville from our building next door.

For your convenience, you can RSVP online. If you have any questions, please contact Meridith Levy.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
