Senior Quality Assurance Systems Engineer – Massachusetts State Lottery Commission
Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Responsible to develop and execute exploratory tests as well as automated tests in order to ensure software and product quality. Responsibilities include estimating, planning, and coordinating testing activities. You will ensure that quality issues and defects are appropriately identified, documented, tracked, and resolved.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ensure proper functionality of software released to Lottery systems
Oversee the work of the Quality Assurance systems engineers
Assist the manager of Quality Assurance in the daily functions and responsibilities of Quality Control/Quality Assurance
Assist programmers, computer operation supervisor and staff in resolving incidents as quickly as possible with minimal effect on lottery agents and public
Assist Network administrators in installation of software related to on-line system
Review requirements specifications and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
Create relevant test data for all types of testing
Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
Provide and maintain quality record keeping
Forward issues to appropriate people for resolution
Review technical and user documentation for content and accuracy
Write software installation procedures
Write/Review/Test lottery system procedures
Must be able to travel to and work in other Lottery regions, as assigned
Perform other duties as assigned.
[Full-Time (Salaried)] Salary Range: 93020.43-93020.43

Minimum Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a Computer Science related field of study or have equivalent work experience
Minimum three-year experience in testing software
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Database tools
Thorough knowledge and understanding of Instant Game product line and testing requirements
Experience with Issue and Project tracking software
Well organized and able to express thoughts in a forthright manner
Comprehensive verbal and written skills
Excellent attendance and punctuality
Positive attitude
Knowledge and understanding of batch and terminal functions in an OLTP processing environment
Knowledge of bet slip and paper stock testing
Technically strong in both hardware, software procedures
Proven working experience in software quality assurance
Meticulous attention to detail
Well versed on different operating systems and software packages
Ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
Knowledge and understanding of computer operating systems
Ability to work well with others
Willingness to take initiative
Level of English Required: Advanced/Fluent
