Help Shape the City’s New Zoning!

On Thursdays throughout the summer, the City Planning Department is hosting a series of workshops to get community input on the City’s new zoning. The theme for Thursday, July 31st is Community Benefits.

AHOC members have spent a lot of time this year thinking about how more affordable housing can be created through Inclusionary Zoning and other ways that zoning can create affordability. We met with City planning staff to share our priorities and hope to see them incorporated into the new zoning ordinance!

Join AHOC members and others on July 31st to participate in this workshop, learn more about the City’s zoning plans, and contribute your ideas.  The workshops are informal, meaning you can stop in at any point between 4pm and 7:30pm.

Where:  50 Middlesex Avenue (behind Style Cafe in the Public Storage building at Assembly Square)

There is a shuttle bus that leaves from Union Square every hour starting at 3:45. For more information, contact Karen or visit the Somerville by Design website.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
