181 Washington Street: Full Speed Ahead!

SCC is thrilled to report that on July 7 Governor Patrick announced funding and tax credit allocations to 24 affordable housing projects across the state, including SCC’s 181 Washington Street project.  SCC is very grateful to Representative Michael E. Capuano, 7th District, MA;  Senator Patricia Jehlen, 2nd Middlesex District; Representative Denise Provost, 27th Middlesex District; and Mayor Joseph A. Curatone for their steadfast support and advocacy on behalf of SCC and this vitally needed 35 unit, affordable housing project.  SCC hopes to break ground on this project in the final quarter of this year.  See Governor Patrick’s full announcement.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
