Drawing Studio and Production Manager – Massachusetts State Lottery Commission

Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Creative Director, the Drawing Studio and Production Manager is a key creative and technical leader within the Lottery’s in-house production department. This role is responsible for a wide variety of tasks including project management, copywriting, all aspects of content production, live and taped studio work, quality assurance for marketing content, distribution of assets to stakeholders, and staffing and conducting the Lottery’s drawings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Content:
Creative collaborator for all in-house marketing campaigns and content series, including ideation, concept development, and copywriting.
Assist in the formulation of integrated marketing strategies across digital, social, video and OOH platforms
Ability to produce, shoot and edit a variety of Lottery content ranging from serialized YouTube content, social media, or large-scale commercial productions in a variety of styles, lengths, and formats
Evaluate and optimize marketing strategies using performance analytics and platform insights.
Ensure consistency in tone, messaging, and quality across all created assets.

Project Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal marketing requests.
Manage projects and timelines, creating production road maps and schedules while properly communicating needs and expectations to cross functional teams and key stakeholders.
Review created assets and marketing materials to ensure they meet brand standards and best practices prior to distribution.

Studio:
Responsible for planning and producing all Lottery studio related content including, but not limited to game shows, and live programing.
Technical understanding of all essential studio equipment, such as switchers, mixers, lights, cameras, microphones, sound systems, etc.
Expert knowledge of live streaming and encoding process for social platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, etc., to ensure highest quality broadcast.
Stay up to date on new live and studio trends and continuously implement new interactive features and other engagement tools to boost viewer participation and satisfaction.
Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.
Ability to set up, test, operate, and tear down all equipment for studio shows.
Supervise Lottery drawings:
Oversee all aspects of the Lottery drawings and the drawing studio.
Conduct Lottery drawings on a regular basis in accordance with official rules and procedures.
Review and maintain all official documentation pertaining to the results of the lottery drawings and work with the auditing firm to review and implement any recommended procedural changes.
Organize the continued testing and maintenance of equipment to ensure functional equipment to conduct the Lottery drawings.
Keep track of drawing studio over time.
The events of certain circumstances, i.e. State of Emergency, severe weather, Lottery need, etc., may determine this position to be considered as “essential” and must report to work.

[Full-Time (Salaried)] Salary Range: 100510.27-100510.27

Schedule Requirements:
1st shift, Nights and weekends
Hybrid eligible, schedule as approved. Nights/weekends will be required, as needed, and ability to travel statewide, as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, comparable degree or experience equivalent.

Proficiency in editing software, such as Adobe Premiere pro and After Effects

Strong attention to detail and able to execute specific procedures.

Self-motivated and able to work independently when necessary.

Experience managing a small studio and producing content.

Salary Range Information

For external applicants who are not current employees of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission (MSLC), the non-negotiable starting salary for this position is $100,510.27 (Job Grade 29/Step 1).

For current MSLC union employees, the starting salary for this position will be calculated using union promotional rules.
