SCC’s 75 Cross St. property in East Somerville contains eight affordable apartments that are home to formerly homeless households, some of them families. The building provides project-based Section 8 affordable housing to tenants.

SCC purchased this property from a developer who intended to build condos on the site but ran into financial difficulties. Since the foundation was already built, we were able to construct the building in record time.

In addition, we are partnered with the Somerville Homeless Coalition to provide support services to residents.

Somerville sits on the original homelands of the Massachusett, Wampanoag, Naumkeag, and Nipmuc tribal nations. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide and forced removal from this territory, and we honor and respect the many diverse Indigenous peoples still connected to this land on which we live and work.
