Gia LaChapelle

Community Engagement Specialist

Gia LaChapelle joined the Somerville Community Corporation team as Community Engagement Specialist in Fall 2021. In this role she directly addresses concerns of SCC tenants, connects them with local resources, and builds relationships with neighboring community organizations. She hopes to help develop leaders in Somerville, and rally around social justice initiatives.

Originally from Springfield Massachusetts, Gia graduated from Tufts University in 2021 with degrees in Political Science and Psychology. Before joining SCC she primarily worked in restaurant and customer service, giving her a passion and skill for communication. During her free time she loves to listen to vinyl records, draw, and take road trips.
